What Am I Even Doing Here?

The one where I lay out my why. What's the aim of the site, who am I writing for. This will keep me focused when I have my 15th subscriber to the RSS feed and the fame gets a little heady.

I've been wanting to write more but without publishing I a) don't have a clear "why", or b) will endlessly refine. So this site serves as a way to make my writing concrete and say "it's good enough". This is a tool for me to write more, and more clearly. Others may read it - that's great, but not the primary purpose.

I expect most posts will be about my journey exploring and growing to know Jesus, God, and Holy Spirit. I want to take hold of the fullness of the promise of relationship with them, which I'm discovering it's so much more than we typically talk about in the western church.

I'll probably also throw in some posts on information operations, information warfare, and related topics like truth and disinformation. I'm a complicated person.

I expect I'll also do a semi-regular (monthly?) post pulling together some things (books, articles, movies, concepts, verses) that have been making me think. This will be a record of what I'm ingesting that's sticking with me and shaping my thoughts and actions.

I will write weekly for at least the next two months (through Feb 2021), but may not post weekly. Spritual things especially may need some time between writing and posting. The measure isn't posting, it's writing.

I've already learned something: I don't want to rely on blog-style headings here (I'd started with headings for the 5Ws), because I'm not trying to be a better blogger but a better writer who captures succint thoughts with clear language.
